Promises, Promises! Getting Ready for June 5th

This Thursday, May 14th, we'll be *officially* launching our school building campaign and have invited TD and Councillor candidates along. We really want to get the point across that we are looking for positive ideas, not to complain! Already this year, we've briefed many local politicians and candidates on the social, economic and community benefits of a permanent school building. Now we need to try and turn it into action....and turn EUR 125,000 rent money into something more long term.

Thanks to everyone for their support so far.

Liza, Paula & Darren.

  1. Fantastic school, such a pity there is no permanent building yet. Very dedicated principal and parents association. They have put so much effort in their quest for the new school building that I really hope they get it.

  2. Brilliant picture and publicity for the buildsourschool.ie campaign on the front page of today's Irish Independent. Congratualtions to all involved in the campaign!

  3. Great site! Well done to all the parents who work tirelessly for their children and community. The children of Leopardstown deserve a permanent school building. What a waste of taxpayers hard earned money to continue to spend it on renting prefabs. An investment now in a permanent building will pay dividends in the future for our children.

  4. Hi there, I'd love to do a article on this. If you'd send me some more information (or if there's someone willing to do an email interview) I'll see if I can drum you up a bit of publicity. Many thanks, EM.

  5. I sincerely hope that your campaign to get a permanent will be successful.

Speaking from experience ... you are sailing against the tide but I do hope you overcome.

I spent 12 years chasing a new school building only to have funding withdrawn at the very last minute .... site was bought, planning permission granted (now long expired) and I have boxes and boxes of empty promises from a plethora of politicians.

I met with four different Ministers for Ed ...

It wore me out .... don't let your campaign get the better of you!

I hope that you are more successful that we were.

    Best regards,

    Paddy
